...this really made my blood boil. This guy's 17 year old daughter came home drunk so he grounded her and took away her cell phone. She went next door called the police and THEY ARRESTED HIM!!! It was HIS cell phone! HE paid the bill! They arrested HIM! SHE was underage and drunk and her dad was doing the right thing by punishing her. What has this country come to when you can't even discipline your kids by taking away stuff that's not theirs???

The Wedding - Polarity (2007)

I love this album, from the opening trumpets to acoustic version of Say Your Prayers, I can listen to this one all the way through without skipping any songs. These guys are high energy, listen to Say Your Prayers, I'll Sleep When I'm Dead, Staring At The Light, and my favorite The Last Stand (Wake The Regiment). That song was my favorite while I was overseas. Got me through some tough days!!

Well if you liked the EP these guys put out a couple years ago then you'll like this album because 5 of those songs are on this one along with 4 new tracks and a live track. I think they signed a deal with a new label and decided to redo those first tracks and add a couple new ones for their first full length album. Can't blame em; this is a good, if not totally new, album.

This is an interesting band, instead of a bass guitar their bass player plays a string bass. This band might not be for everyone but I enjoy some of their songs. The best are probably Pusher and One Man's Disaster.

Kessler - I Know Your Voice (2008)

One of my favorite albums of 2008. I love these guys energy, especially live. I got to see them live at the Crowbar in Ybor City and even though they weren't the headliners they stole the show. My favorites are Love Is War, Bravo, Perfect and my favorite of the favorites Dallas. Give em a listen, they're a little poppier than I usually listen to but I'd definitely make an exception for these guys!

Halfdown Thomas is a new band for me. I first heard them on Tunelab Music (great site btw) where you can stream the whole album. More straight ahead modern rock. The singer sounds vaguely familiar like it's been done before but these guys do it good enough that I don't really mind. Give em a listen and decide for yourself.

Another eMusic find, these guys from Wisconsin know how to rock! Straight ahead, punch you in the face rock kind of like Nickelback, 12 Stones, etc. They're working on a new album that you can check out samples of on their myspace. Definitely worth checking out.

Renegade Five - Underground Universe (2009)

These guys from Sweden are the real deal. Trust me, they will be HUGE someday. I downloaded two of their songs Running in Your Veins and Shadows a few months ago and was very impatient waiting for the whole album to be released. It did not disappoint. With songs like Save My Soul and Darkest Age and the before mentioned songs they remind me of Red with a European flair. They also excel at ballads as Love Will Remain can attest to. Too good to pass up!!

The Opposed - Initiate (2008)

Here's an EP from a Christian band that's new to me called The Opposed. Just a couple songs that will hopefully spark a full length release sometime soon. Some straight ahead rock, their song Farewell to Goodbye will get stuck in your head and not let go. They have another song Redemption that you can hear on their Myspace. Pretty good stuff that with a little refinement and production quality could be very good.

TheMightyOne - S/T (2008)

This was one I found on eMusic and I'm glad I did! Some good hard rock here. Best songs are Reprieved, Forsaken and Wake Up. The others are good too but those songs are on another level. Good melodies and some strong guitar work. My only complaint is that the vocals aren't as strong as they could be at times but take a listen and decide for yourself. You won't be disappointed!

Tenth Planet - Everything is Never Over (2008)

These Canadians know how to rock! I had never heard of them until I found them on eMusic last month. Some good hard rock but also some melody in the same vein as Entwine, Alice in Chains, STP, etc. Standout tracks: See Yourself, Even If You're Still Alive, Little Nation, Into Empire. Some good stuff from across the border here!

Red - Innocence and Instinct (2009)

Wow! This album is amazing! I liked their first album and listened to it quite a bit but eventually it got lost along the wayside. I don't see that happening with this one. Definitely the best of 2009 so far and most likely the best we'll see this year. I love the songs Mystery of You, Shadows and the cover of Duran Duran's Ordinary World. An extra plus are the bonus tracks Overtake You and Forever which could have been a part of the album without losing any of its greatness. 5 stars!!
If you like Red check out Broken Iris (Myspace), a little softer at times but definitely a good find!

Nural - Entitlement (2009)

Nural's sophomore album dropped on Feb 2nd 2009 and is definitely not affected by a so-called sophomore slump! This album is better than their first and is a good example of a band evolving their sound in a good way. My favorite tracks are Stop Me When You've Had Enough and Physics but this is a cd you can listen to all the way through.
